Questions & Answers:
Stamped Concrete Resealing and Recoloring Services
Q: My older concrete patio was never sealed. Can you seal it for me?
A: Sure. First comes power washing or using a wet sandblasting alternative first!
If your older concrete surface has seen better days, CONCRETE DOC+ will be happy to seal it for you. But before we do that, we'll need to prepare it for optimal results. Your concrete will be either professionally cleaned with concrete power washing or if necessary, we will use an abrasive wet sandblasting alternative which will truly give your surface a beautiful new rebirth. After we have a fresh clean surface, CONCRETE DOC+ will professionally seal your outdoor livihng space.
Q: What type of wet abrasive blasting do you use to remove my old concrete sealer?
A: We use a safe, environmentally-friendly wet abrasive sandblasting alternative that comes right to door.
Before we can apply a new concrete sealer and/or a top coat of antiquing color, the remainder of the old concrete sealer needs to be removed to give us a clean porous surface. CONCRETE DOC+ uses a safe alternative to sandblasting to remove the old sealer. We use UPSTATE ECO-BLASTING, a division of our parent company (Gruttadaurio Masonry). Upstate Eco-Blasting uses tiny glass beads as the abrasive media versus traditional sandblasting (which is highly dangerous when inhaled and can cause severe health issues). UPSTATE ECO-BLASTING uses water to trap any dust particles and prevents them from escaping into the air—thus minimizing environmental contamination.
Q: Can you recolor my Stamped Concrete before resealing it? I need a color refresh.
A: Absolutely, by using our Perma-Tique® Accent Colors.
Has your original concrete sealer failed and the color is dull and lifeless? Before we reseal your old worn concrete, consider adding an antiquing accent color to the surface. Adding an accent color to your stamped concrete surface will enhance the stamped design, and accentuate the nooks and crannies inherent in the stamp design. Need help deciding which accent color is best for your current stamped surface? We can help. Our concrete design professionals will visit your property for a free consultation and estimate.
Q: My previous contractor did a poor job sealing my concrete patio. Can CONCRETE DOC+ reseal it for me?
A: Of course, we can reseal your concrete patio, even if it was installed by someone else.
Has your original contractor done a less-than-perfect concrete sealing job? It happens more often than you might think. Many times, contractors that offer concrete services as an add-on to landscape or other construction services are not experts in the concrete industry. Knowing how to do it properly using the right type of sealer can make all the difference on whether your concrete surface fades and fails prematurely. We're always here to help. After a close inspection of your current concrete surface, we may find that it requires more than just resealing. Due to the thaw-freeze cycle in Rochester, NY, concrete repair may be necessary. This can include chipping, flaking, pitting, or minor cracking. You may also want to consider concrete resurfacing, depending on the extent of the surface deterioration.
